Cameron Park is an historic Raleigh subdivision that is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The Cameron Park subdivision began in 1910 on land that was once part of the Duncan Cameron Plantation.
Cameron Park neighborhood was originally dubbed a "streetcar suburb" because streetcars ran along Hillsborough Street and connected downtown to North Carolina College of Agriculture and Mechanical Arts which later became North Carolina State University. This Raleigh neighborhood was originally marketed to those who could commute to work via the streetcar
