For me, listening to the NC Symphony is like having cool, clear water wash over me. So, this recommendation is very biased - I love the symphony and I'm a neophyte to classical music.
One does not have to know anything about classical music to love the symphony in Raleigh. The NC Symphony serves it all to us in a manner that both the knowledgeable and the novice can appreciate and love.
I used to think that classical music was all a symphony was about - but I was wrong. The NC Symphony has such a wide variety of performances - Pops, Classical, Friday Favorites, Pub Concert, and Young People's series to - name just a few. You can relax with the familiar while you learn to appreciate the classical.
The symphony is under the artistic leadership of Music Director Grant Llewellyn.
The NC Symphony plays across the state in both large and small communities. Plus they have a dedication to bring appreciation of music to school kids across the state with their extensive education program.
Attending s NC Symphony performance is truly a breathtaking experience and such an important aspect of North Carolina's cultural life. Enjoy!
