Dos Taquitos Centro is a downtown Raleigh Restaurant that has two things going for it. It's so funky cool and it has some the best Mexican food in Raleigh
Dos Taquitos Centro is a small little place that has a Mexican-artys-cozy-creative kind of feel to it. Lots of people like this restaurant and it can get very busy, packed and noisy - perfect in an odd sort of way.
The food here is always good. They use lots of fresh ingredients so the menu changes with what's in season.
There's lots to recommend - our suggestion is to just work your way through the menu. The menu is small but good and the flavors are fresh and full. This is good Mexican food.
Some items we particularly like are the mole poblano - great distinct flavor, the cilantro rice (love it!), and Sopa De Pollo: Chicken broth with white meat, yellow rice, pico de gallo, avocados and fresh cilantro.
Dos Taquitos Centro is known for its steak tacos. They're probably the best steak tacos you will ever eat. The dinner steak taco is a huge tortilla that's over-stuffed with steak, Chihuahua cheese and avocado. Hmmmmmm.
Margaritas - they have great ones - of course. Try the tamarind and the watermelon margaritas.
There is just one thing that gets under my skin just a little. You will be paying for your chips and salsa. Not sure why that irks me but it does. However I forgive them because this is GREAT Raleigh Mexican food.

Driving Directions: is located at 106 S. Wilmington Street. Exit I440 at Wade Ave. continue on Wade Ave, merge onto Capital Blvd/Downtown; continue onto N Dawson St, turn left at W Morgan St; turn right at Fayetteville St. Take the 1st left onto E Hargett St. Take the 1st left onto S Wilmington St and Dos Taquitos Centro will be on the left.
