Wendell is a small community about 10 miles east of Raleigh. Wendell is picturesque - by design. The town planners are very conscious of their history and their future.

Wendell was named for the poet Oliver Wendell Holmes - but they changed the pronunciation of his name. When the railroad came to town, the porters on the train would call out "WENDELL (win-DELL)" and the pronunciation just stuck.

The town has an historic area and several locations on the National Register of Historic Places.

There is also golf - of course! The Wendell Country Club is a beautifully designed course.

Homes in Wendell are wonderfully affordable with most homes in the $100,000 to $300,000 range. Being a little bit farther from Raleigh has its advantages!

Wendell is a very straight-shot, easy commute to Raleigh. That easy access coupled with the affordability of Wendell homes and the beauty of the town makes it a wonderful place to live.

Nearby communities include Zebulon to the Northeast and Knightdale and Raleigh to the West.
