Cameron Village was Raleigh's first shopping center away from downtown. It opened in 1949 with three stores and one restaurant. People were invited to "Shop as you please, with the greatest of ease".

Today Cameron Village still has its charm and history. It is an open-air shopping mall, with the stores divided into blocks. There's parking everywhere so that is never much of a problem.

Cameron Village has over 100 stores, restaurants. It's very boutiquey! Most of the stores are high-end designer clothing, shoes and jewelry - in quirky little shops that are very cool. Beanie + Cecil, Uniquities, and Wardrobbe are great.

There are also some wonderful gift shops like Accipiter Galleries and Ten Thousand Villages.

There are some great places to eat here. The Village Draft House has super burgers and beers or you can go over to Fosters for a little fancier meal. The Village Deli & Grill has great Specialty Sandwiches

Cameron Village is a Raleigh tradition - for its shopping, its history, its layout, and it food. It is a Raleigh staple!
